Home prices actually going up?
According to National Association of Realtors median housing prices reached a low in February 2008 of $195,600 from the $230,200 peak reached in July 2006. However, since February, prices have risen for 4 months to a median price of $208,600, a 6.6% increase. Is now the time to buy? Has housing reached its bottom? No one ever knows, but if you can afford to jump into the housing market and you're buying a home for the right reasons, you know like shelter and a long term nestegg, it may be right for you.
